A thru-hiker’s limerick in honor of St. Patrick’s Day

I may be roughly 75% Irish in reality, but I’m 100% Irish in spirit, so I had┬áto do something for St. Patrick’s Day. Given my impending thru-hike, an Appalachian Trail-inspired limerick seems to be appropriate. Enjoy ­čÖé

If the United States were a dime
The Appalachian Trail would easily climb
From Roosevelt’s tie knot
Up to his bald spot.
Seemed like a good idea at the time…
